We have an opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant to join our Warehouse and Transport team on a permanent basis.

This role is 36 hours weekly, working a continental shift pattern (3 on, 3 off – 12 hour shifts, starting at 6am or 6pm).

Main duties are as follows:

Goods In

Ensure all goods received from suppliers are checked in accordance with the delivery note

Book goods received onto the warehouse system and issue with bar code, ensuring integrity of data input

Ensure all goods received are placed in accurate locations so that materials are easily accessible, locatable and therefore retrievable

Finished Goods

Ensure all finished pallets received from production are checked to make sure they are correctly wrapped and packaged to guarantee they reach customers in good condition

Book finished pallets onto the warehouse system and issue with bar code, ensuring integrity of data input

Segregate finished pallets into (a) despatch to customer; and (b) stock to be placed in warehouse

Select appropriate pallets from warehouse to satisfy requirements of pick-list issued by the despatch/warehouse office

Ensure allocated pallets are clearly marked with customer destination and are then loaded onto a designated vehicle for despatch

Ensure all loads are checked against delivery notes

Check all incoming goods returned from customers against goods returns sheet ensuring all details are then emailed to relevant personnel and pallets are clearly identified and placed in quarantine area

Ensure all warehouse stock is accurately stored

Actively participate in monthly stock takes

Ensure warehouse areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all warehousing equipment (such counterbalance, reach trucks) and that all necessary vehicle checks are conducted and that equipment is kept in good working order at all times, reporting immediately any problems or breakdown

Ensure full & accurate completion of all requisite despatch/warehouse documentation

Ensure the safety of all individuals working in or around the warehouse areas are safe and segregated from workplace transport

Perform suitable handovers between shifts, ensuring notes and instructions are passed on as required

Carry out all duties in accordance with the standards required by PS9000 and BRC/IoP in terms of housekeeping, hygiene and product quality including checking the suitability of wrapping and packaging to ensure finished goods reach the customer in good condition and completing all shipping/receiving documentation. Report any issues affecting quality or non-compliance to customer specifications immediately

Carry out all duties in accordance with the standards required by the HSE and maintain compliance at all times

YOU WILL NEED A VALID, IN DATE FLT/COUNTER BALANCE/REACH CERTIFICATE FOR THIS ROLE
