Three Is the Magic Number for Graphic Packaging Following Triple Award Win at Grocer New Product & Packaging Awards

Graphic Packaging International’s consumer packaging expertise took the spotlight this week in the West End of London with a triple success at The Grocer New Product & Packaging Awards.

The global consumer packaging leader won gold and silver awards in the Sustainable Pack of the Year – Recyclability category, while its innovative Boardio™ fiber-based canister solution continued its remarkable winning streak with a silver medal in the Paper Pack of the Year category.

The award ceremony, held at the famous Royal Lancaster London Hotel, marked the debut of ten new packaging-focused categories at the Grocer Awards. Graphic Packaging’s success further bolsters its reputation as a trusted leader in the fiber-based consumer packaging sector.

The medal-winning packs are:

Sustainable Pack of the Year – Recyclability

Gold Medal: Pressed board vacuum skin steak packs, developed for ABP Food Group and retailer Aldi, that use around 90 percent less plastic when compared to the previous packaging format.

Silver Medal: A flexible paper-based pack for chilled meats based on PaperLite™ technology that contains 90 percent renewable plant-based fiber, developed for Cranswick PLC and retailer Tesco.

Paper Pack of the Year

Silver Medal: the fiber-based Boardio canister developed in partnership with Perfetti Van Melle for its Mentos brand of gum.
