Fortress™ PE Folding Carton Board

Fortress™ PE paperboard is a double clay-coated bleached paperboard with an added extrusion coating of polyethylene (PE) on one (PE1S) or both (PE2S) sides. Offering a variety of polyethylene options and specifications, Fortress PE paperboard can be customized to suit your project needs. 

Available in a wide range of grades and coating weights, Fortress PE provides superior package integrity by withstanding fluctuations in temperature and moisture levels. 

With specially designed coatings that offer an excellent water and vapor barrier as well as superior grease hold out, Fortress PE paperboard is suitable for a variety of applications including frozen foods, soap boxes, dry foods, pastries, limited-service restaurants, and hospitality. 

Bleached paperboard is also known as solid bleached sulfate or SBS.

  • Bleaching: Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleached fiber
  • Complies with CONEG/Toxics in Packaging laws and with Article 11 of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC)
Compostability
  • Paperboard is manufactured from plant-based fiber from sustainably managed forests. As there is no specific test for paper compostability, it is recommended that ASTM 6400, 6868, or similar test methods are used to verify the compostable nature of paperboard or paperboard packaging.
