EnviroClip™ Cans is a clip-style multipack solution for canned beverages that uses the least amount of material compared to other multipack formats as an alternative to plastic rings and shrink film. Our unique, patented clip uses Z-Flute™, a solid fiber design that adds strategic reinforcement where needed to deliver a strong clip that performs in both cold and humid conditions.
EnviroClip Cans works for standard 12 oz. and 16 oz. cans in 4-, 6- and 8-pack configurations. It can be applied at high speed via an individual clip application on the AutoClip™ ECR1800 or directly in a tray through SplitClip™ application on the AutoClip SplitClip™.

The Beer Boutique is an independently owned beer store in Winnipeg, Canada that strives to deliver convenient, quality products and excellent service. To enhance their customer service and create differentiation, the store offers a service that allows consumers to create custom six-packs by combining individual cans of different beverages.
The store wanted to replace their previous paperboard basket carrier with a new, innovative packaging solution that not only offered consumers an elevated experience but also supported the store’s sustainability goals by using less paperboard than the basket carrier.
The Beer Boutique partnered with us to design a paperboard packaging solution that prioritizes consumer convenience while
improving efficiency.
Challenge
- The Beer Boutique wanted to replace their existing basket carrier with a unique solution that would continue to allow consumers to select custom six-pack combinations while reducing material use.

Graphic Packaging Makes Switching to Paperboard Packaging Even Easier with EnviroClip™ Duo

Leading paperboard consumer packaging innovator Graphic Packaging International (‘Graphic Packaging’) has launched a new addition to its EnviroClip™ multipack portfolio: EnviroClip™ Duo
A paperboard clip-style multipack solution, EnviroClip Duo allows customers to create high-impact, high-performance two-packs of glass and plastic bottles and jars, eliminating the need for shrink wrap, flexible rings and rigid plastic dog-teeth rings. The concept is also suitable for three-pack and four-pack configurations in a single lane.
Graphic Packaging’s design and innovation teams work closely with their customers to tailor the pack design to best accommodate the type and weight of the container it will carry through the supply chain – while keeping material use to a minimum.
Steve Gould, director, business development, global beverage & multipacks at Graphic Packaging unveiled the new solution, saying, “Our customers tell us they need innovative thinking and operational efficiency in addition to plastic reduction within their multipack portfolio, enabling them to better respond to the fast-paced omnichannel market where they operate today. Graphic Packaging International (‘Graphic Packaging’), the leading manufacturer of fiber-based consumer packaging solutions, has enhanced its range of sustainable multipack packaging for the beverage industry. In line with its commitment to ongoing product innovation in support of a more circular economy, the business has launched EnviroClip™ – a minimal material, paperboard alternative to plastic rings and shrink film for standard beverage cans.
“EnviroClip enables beverage companies to significantly increase sustainability by replacing plastic packaging for can multipacks with a recyclable and renewable solution,” explained Ricardo de Genova, SVP global innovation and new business at Graphic Packaging. “Its launch complements our KeelClip™ beverage can multipack solution and means we are now able to meet customer requirements across a full spectrum of different sized operations.”
The new Graphic Packaging solution is made from a single ply of paperboard, produced using renewable fiber from sustainably managed forests. No adhesive or plastic laminations are utilized in its construction.
EnviroClip employs equipment with a small footprint that can run at a range of speeds from manual application to high-speed automation. It can also be used alongside KeelClip for customers who want to employ different pack formats depending on production quantities or because they have a multi-tiered product strategy. The solution can be used for both 12-oz (330ml) and 16-oz (500ml) standard cans in four- and six-pack configurations. Graphic Packaging’s high-speed equipment features a proprietary custom overhead clipping system which delivers consistent application of the EnviroClip ring to the cans and helps to ensure pack quality and performance.
The cans remain easy to detach at the point of consumption while the overall pack design features finger holes to ensure easy and comfortable carrying. Further benefits include the space to print high-impact brand and sustainability messages.
