EnviroClip™ Beam Takes the Spotlight at the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2025
September 17, 2025

Graphic Packaging is celebrating success in the 2025 World Beverage Innovation Awards, as their EnviroClip™ Beam multipack created for UK beverage brand Get More Vits has been named Best Packaging Design.
Revealed at drinktec in Munich on 16 September, the hotly contested World Beverage Innovation Awards recognize the very best in global beverage technology and packaging innovation. EnviroClip Beam, adopted by Get More Vits for its four-pack of best-selling vitamin drinks, impressed the judges with its glue-free, paperboard design that minimizes material use versus other multipack formats, its great on-shelf presence, and its ease of recycling in household waste streams.
A true paperboard success story, EnviroClip Beam demonstrates Graphic Packaging’s aim of creating packaging innovations that are more circular, more functional, and more convenient than alternatives such as plastic rings and shrink film.
Steve Gould, director, business development for global beverage at Graphic Packaging, said: “EnviroClip Beam is a clear example of how paperboard packaging is delivering real impact in the beverage market. We proudly partner with brands like Get More Vits to bring next-generation multipack formats to market, with a strong focus on packaging that reduces reliance on plastic, streamlines operations, and delivers a great consumer experience.
“We had plenty to shout about at the World Beverage Innovation Awards; not only did EnviroClip Beam pick up gold in the Packaging Design category, but we also secured three finalist listings and a commendation in the Sustainable Packaging category. In such a fiercely competitive market, it’s a fantastic reflection not only of our skilled team, but of the range, versatility, and real-world impact of paperboard packaging innovation.”

Graphic Packaging Makes Switching to Paperboard Packaging Even Easier with EnviroClip™ Duo
February 15, 2023

Leading paperboard consumer packaging innovator Graphic Packaging International (‘Graphic Packaging’) has launched a new addition to its EnviroClip™ multipack portfolio: EnviroClip™ Duo
A paperboard clip-style multipack solution, EnviroClip Duo allows customers to create high-impact, high-performance two-packs of glass and plastic bottles and jars, eliminating the need for shrink wrap, flexible rings and rigid plastic dog-teeth rings. The concept is also suitable for three-pack and four-pack configurations in a single lane.
Graphic Packaging’s design and innovation teams work closely with their customers to tailor the pack design to best accommodate the type and weight of the container it will carry through the supply chain – while keeping material use to a minimum.
Steve Gould, director, business development, global beverage & multipacks at Graphic Packaging unveiled the new solution, saying, “Our customers tell us they need innovative thinking and operational efficiency in addition to plastic reduction within their multipack portfolio, enabling them to better respond to the fast-paced omnichannel market where they operate today. That’s why we’re delighted to add greater diversity to our clip-style packaging range so we can meet our customers’ needs across a wider range of markets including beverage, food, health and personal care.
“The launch of EnviroClip Duo follows the introduction of EnviroClip Diamond, EnviroClip Beam and EnviroClip Bottles for the beverage segment in late 2022, so the range now accommodates an even greater range of applications and configurations in the non-beverage space.”
EnviroClip Duo can be applied to jars and bottles at a range of speeds, from manual application to an automated machinery solution designed and manufactured by Graphic Packaging.
Gould added, “Our focus is on solving customers’ packaging challenges by developing innovative solutions that support them in achieving their sustainability goals, provide greater operational efficiency, and appeal to consumers in design and functionality.”

Graphic Packaging Extends Range of Sustainable Packaging Solutions for Beverage Industry With EnviroClip™
March 22, 2022

Graphic Packaging International (‘Graphic Packaging’), the leading manufacturer of fiber-based consumer packaging solutions, has enhanced its range of sustainable multipack packaging for the beverage industry. In line with its commitment to ongoing product innovation in support of a more circular economy, the business has launched EnviroClip™ – a minimal material, paperboard alternative to plastic rings and shrink film for standard beverage cans.
“EnviroClip enables beverage companies to significantly increase sustainability by replacing plastic packaging for can multipacks with a recyclable and renewable solution,” explained Ricardo de Genova, SVP global innovation and new business at Graphic Packaging. “Its launch complements our KeelClip™ beverage can multipack solution and means we are now able to meet customer requirements across a full spectrum of different sized operations.”
The new Graphic Packaging solution is made from a single ply of paperboard, produced using renewable fiber from sustainably managed forests. No adhesive or plastic laminations are utilized in its construction.
EnviroClip employs equipment with a small footprint that can run at a range of speeds from manual application to high-speed automation. It can also be used alongside KeelClip for customers who want to employ different pack formats depending on production quantities or because they have a multi-tiered product strategy. The solution can be used for both 12-oz (330ml) and 16-oz (500ml) standard cans in four- and six-pack configurations. Graphic Packaging’s high-speed equipment features a proprietary custom overhead clipping system which delivers consistent application of the EnviroClip ring to the cans and helps to ensure pack quality and performance.
The cans remain easy to detach at the point of consumption while the overall pack design features finger holes to ensure easy and comfortable carrying. Further benefits include the space to print high-impact brand and sustainability messages.
Steve Gould, Graphic Packaging’s director, business development – global beverage & multi-packs, added: “Since its introduction, KeelClip has gained international recognition for its sustainability performance and the important role it is continuing to play in reducing plastic usage and hard-to-recycle plastic waste. EnviroClip builds on the same expertise and innovation, providing an expanded portfolio that makes it possible to meet our customers’ different needs.”

Raising the Bar: The Top Beverage Industry Trends From drinktec 2025
In today’s beverage packaging market, the strength of partnerships and collaborative relationships has become more critical than ever. As businesses navigate increasing market uncertainty and shifting consumer expectations, success is often defined not just by innovation in products or technology, but by the ability to work closely with trusted partners across the value chain. At this year’s leading beverage industry event, it was clear that companies prioritizing open collaboration — whether with suppliers, technology providers, or brand partners — are better positioned to adapt, drive sustainable solutions, and deliver exceptional consumer experiences. This spirit of partnership is now a defining trend, shaping the future of beverage packaging and setting new standards for resilience and growth.
Supply Chain Resiliency: Safeguarding Operations
In an era marked by global disruptions and shifting market dynamics, supply chain resiliency has emerged as a critical priority for beverage producers. Companies are increasingly focused on building robust, flexible supply networks that can withstand unexpected challenges — whether from geopolitical events, raw material shortages, or logistical bottlenecks. By investing in diversified sourcing, digital supply chain visibility, and strong partnerships across the value chain, businesses can better maintain operations, minimize downtime, and ensure consistent product availability for customers.
Cost Optimization and Process Efficiency
As competitive pressures intensify, beverage companies are seeking new ways to optimize costs and drive efficiencies throughout their production processes. Advances in machinery systems — such as modular equipment, automation, and energy-efficient technologies — are enabling producers to reduce waste, lower operational expenses, and increase throughput. Streamlining production lines and embracing continuous improvement methodologies not only supports profitability but also enhances the ability to adapt quickly to changing consumer demands and regulatory requirements.
Sustainability Takes a Leading Role
Reducing environmental impact was a clear priority. Exhibitors introduced systems to cut energy use and minimize waste, including compact machinery designed to reduce downtime and output. Lightweight packaging and smaller formats emerged as major trends, helping producers meet global regulations and reduce material consumption. New bottle designs, including premium-looking alternatives to traditional formats, reflected the industry’s push for both sustainability and consumer appeal. Brewing technology also saw a shift, with carbon-neutral solutions and a focus on preserving traditional practices while catering to the growing demand for low and no-alcohol options.
Technology and AI Integration
Modernization was a recurring theme, with artificial intelligence increasingly integrated into production lines for improved quality control and customization. Virtual testing and 3D printing are being used to reduce research and development waste, while modular equipment and space-efficient solutions are helping producers optimize their facilities. Sustainability remains a focus, with new technologies designed to lower costs and energy consumption.
Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Flavor Innovations Blur Categories
Diversification was evident in brewing, with new ingredients supporting the expansion of no/low alcohol ranges and adding natural, health-focused appeal. Functional beverages — drinks that offer benefits beyond taste — are gaining traction, moving from soft drinks into the alcohol sector. Ingredient innovation is helping brands respond to evolving consumer lifestyles and preferences.
Packaging as an Experience
Packaging is evolving from a simple container to an interactive experience. Innovations included QR codes on cans that unlock music tailored to the drink’s flavor, and creative printing techniques that enhance visual appeal and consumer engagement. Interactive spaces at the event facilitated networking and expert exchange, highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving industry progress.
Celebrating Innovation
The event concluded with the World Beverage Innovation Awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding achievements across more than 20 categories, from sparkling drinks to technology innovation. The celebration underscored the industry’s commitment to pushing boundaries and rewarding creativity.
